SEIKO has sponsored the International 49er Class since 2006 and also sponsored the European 49er Championships, held in Helsinki from July 5 to 13.

Sixty-five teams from twenty one nations competed in sheltered waters very close to the centre of the city of Helsinki.

The result is that two-time world champions Nathan Outteridge and Lain Jensen from New South Wales in Australia won, runners-up are Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign from the UK and the bronze medal was taken by the Danish team of Simon and Enrich Nielsen.
