The Seiko Boutique in Madrid opens to the sound of a Japanese drumbeat.

Madrid, Spain

On November 20, 2012, the normally serene atmosphere in Madrid’s famous Calle de Preciados was enlivened by the rich sounds of a Japanese drum trio, playing a traditional tune of welcome for the guests invited to the inauguration of the spectacular new Seiko Boutique. The store is located on one of Madrid’s most visited streets, and is just a few metres from the Puerta del Sol, the true centre of the city. The store, which is managed by Geresa, displays all the Seiko Elite collections, alongside Grand Seiko and, of course, the much in demand new Seiko Astron.

Around 60 guests, including retail partners, representatives of the media and watch collectors, heard a formal welcome from Miguel Angel Cadarso, the joint owner and Vice President of Geresa. Kinya Iwami of Seiko Watch Corporation then presented to him an exquisite Seiko Décor clock with a congratulatory message from Shinji Hattori, the President of SWC, engraved on an accompanying plaque. The clock and the plaque now enjoy pride of place in the centre of the Boutique.
